Illustration Friday-- Surrender

I used to attend a Bible study on Thursday mornings, where I held a position with the illustrious title of Snack Fairy, which basically meant that I passed around a sign-up sheet (always decorated with cakes and coffee cups, of course!) for volunteers to bring the snacks.  This year, my attendance has waned, mostly because construction has increased the rush hour traffic and my travel time to over an hour.  So, with heavy heart, I decided to surrender my Snack Fairy wand, and drew this little ditty earlier this week to cushion the blow.  :)

Oh, and by the way, the Sewing Alphabet below is now available here and here.

  1. It's just the perfect illustration for surrendering yourself to a cupcake; not a bad thought for a Friday.

  6. Oh, but you will always be an honorary Snack Fairy! What's that saying? Whenever an egg timer dings, a Snack Fairy gets her wings...? This is an enchanting and wonderful drawing! Delicious!

  9. On January 11th I felt something under my pillow. I reached under it and pulled out a cupcake! I always heard about the snack fairy, but it wasn’t till this year that I finally believed.... and now you are surrendering your wand? Who can fill those ballerina slippers? :o) Great lines and movement in this Krista! Wonderful character design! Hey congrats in getting into the first 12 submissions! You are quick!

  13. I see that the snack fairy is a little round around the edges. I guess she has to sample her wares.
Unfortunately I surrendered to her charms more than I should have today!
